About
Originally from Asheville, NC, I spent my formative years traveling, camping, and photographing with my parents and two younger brothers. My love of the natural world and my appreciation for the unique system of parks that we have in the United States undoubtedly derived from this. My influences include the surveyors and explorers who were working in the American west during the nineteenth century-- photographers such as William Henry Jackson and Timothy O'Sullivan, geologists such as John Wesley Powell, and activists such as John Muir. I view my own photographs, of a natural world in transition, as an extension of their exploration. I currently live and work in New York City.
